Google Android 7.1.1: Longer battery life, graphical keyboard & more!

On the 6th December 2016 (today), the Android 7.1.1 official firmware has released as promised. Apart from several bug fixes previously encountered, the new firmware comes with much more optimization that brings more battery life and some new features. Check out those below!

Currently, Android 7.1.1 is now available to download on smartphone such as Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. All smartphone owners will be notified through push notification for the global OTA update.

 

In this update, the optimized firmware now allows smartphone to have longer battery life than expected. Quick access menu on Pixel smartphone can be accessed by long pressing the icons that allows sending messages as similar to what Apple offered on their Force Touch display.

The new graphical keyboard allows sending pictures and GIFs in Google Hangout, Allo and some other messaging app. Hence, you can now send cat pictures without the need to browse your galleries or load up your browser.
