MediaTek launches Helio P20 processor that supports LPDDR4X for a faster & thinner smartphone

MediaTek has launched its premium P20 chipset that marketed towards flagships and premiums that seek for a thin body design and a high power efficiency CPU. The Helio P20 is based on 16nm manufacturing process and was the first SoC to support LPDDR4X that promises faster random access read write with low power consumption. This also reduce the power consumption up to 25% in contrast with the previous P10 SoC while there are some major upgrade in the system and GPU performance. The P20 comes with 8 ARM Cortex A53 core with a total clock rate at 2.3Ghz and a 900MHz Mali T880 video processor. It will be likely surface the market on the next half of 2016.

The support of LPDDR4X RAM also offers 70% more memory bandwidth than LPDDR3 and as low as 0.6V power required. It can saves battery up to 50% and brings faster and fluent camera capture and gaming experience. The collaborative effort with Imagiq ISP brings more convenience when taking picture and retain the best quality possibles for image and video recorded. It also comes with LTE Cat. 6 with transfer rate at 300Mbps/50Mbps.
