The exterior of the box appears simplistic and the white colour is highly proportionate with the colour of the smartphone. In the meantime, the purchase of Vivo X5Max will comes with complimentary mobile phone case and screen protector. It also comes with XE600i earbuds that can offers high quality music experience after optimization from pre-installed phone software.

The front facing camera, speakers, proximity sensors are located in the front part of the device. Three virtual key buttons were found beneath the large display that appears conventional from other android devices. The gold plated frame surrounds the white area of the smartphone makes the X5Max appears more elegant and appealing.

In the rear part of the X5Max, a large metal plate was found in the center of the rear exterior while only the top and bottom part are in white. This design is certainly unique and doesn’t look bad.

With a smartphone thickness at 5.08mm, the camera module is highly protruding compared to the rest of the equipment in the rear part of body. However, sacrifices has to be made in such thin smartphone design. The bottom part of the rear body only contains long speaker grill as no other hardware could be found.

The design of the metal frame on the side are highly sophisticated that provides a certain thickness and a sense of security that the phone will not shattered easily when dropped. However, the frame do appears thick and such small curvature may offers poor grip and could be slipped out from hand if not caution.

The power button and the volume rocker are placed in the upper part on the right side. Both buttons are very near to each other feels similar which could cause mistake when pressing the right button. We also faced the similar issue when pressing the volume rocker. However, users will get used to it after using it for certain periods. The SIM card slot is also located on the right side of the phone while nothing could be found in the left side.

One of the commendable point is that the earphone jack and charging slot are well placed within the body. With thickness at 5.08mm, it isn’t an easy task have sufficient space to insert them within the border.

The user interface appears lively with high vivid colours. The display also appears outstanding at high definition.

Here comes a beautiful selfie of our staff!

Conclusion:

The exterior design appears elegant and minimal but not too simplistic. From the short hands-on experience, I felt that the back metal plate appears too flat and appears uncomfortable. The little curvature on the side could leads to poor grip of the phone. However, X5Max does not feel as light as a plastic toy and thus the experience isn’t bad after all.
