On the MWC Shanghai 2017 today, Qualcomm has brought us a new entry level commercial smartphone system-on-chip – the Snapdragon 450. It is based on 14nm FinFET processor and comes with Adreno 506 integrated GPU. The new chipset also supports Universal Serial Bus 3.0 for higher transfer speed along with the support for the 3rd generation Qualcomm QuickCharge.
The Snapdragon 450 is placed between entry level to mid-range system chipset that offers highest performance among all Snapdragon 400 chipset series. Due to its 14nm FinFET technology, the Snapdragon 450 offers 25% more performance than Snapdragon 435 with lower power consumption. It also has a greater support for dual rear camera up to 21MP or dual 13MP camera with Live Bokeh effect.
The Snapdragon 450 also supports the new Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 that charges 80% in just 35 minutes. This processor is expected to available on entry level to mid-range smartphones by end of this year.
