The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the first Samsung smartphone to be preloaded with Samsung Bixby, their most advanced AI virtual voice assistant. While Bixby seems to be solely developed for Galaxy S8 and its future generation, a member from XDA-Developers found that the Bixby works on most Samsung smartphone provided that certain criteria is met.
The site member found that the Bixby APK extracted from the Galaxy S8 is actually compatible with other device provided that it runs on Android 7.0 with S8 Launcher.
While the Bixby is primarily designed for Galaxy S8 (for now), there could be some bug experienced when porting the app to another Samsung smartphone. However there is no harm trying so you could get hands on experience with the new Samsung most advanced virtual assistant!
