Smartphones today are coming with larger battery capacity to suffice the power consumption of its hardware use and a powerbank is an essential piece of gadget for a power user. Around November last year, Xiaomi has launched their first generation 20000mAh powerbank that fulfills the power hungry smartphone and the second generation of 20000mAh has been officially launched today with a new design and better build quality.
The new generation Xiaomi Powerbank 2 has a similar design with the 1st generation but it is much more slimmer and shorter but insignificantly bulkier at 2.1mm. It also comes with a rough surface to provide a better grip on palm.
For its hardware, the new powerbank uses high density Li-Ion battery and supports Qualcomm QC3.0 quickcharging technology with the 5V/2A, 5V/2.4A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A output. Both output port is at 5V/3.6A that is compatible with latest smartphone, tablets and even the new Macbook.
Despite the design changes and hardware upgrade, the new Xiaomi Powerbank is still priced the same at RMB149 (~RM96) and will be available to purchase in China from 19th December onward.
