Along with the recent virus outbreak, it is essential to get the thing we contacted everyday in clean state. In lieu of this, Apple has released the proper guide on how to clean your Apple products which you can apply to some non-Apple products too!
- Use soft, lint-free cloth only. Avoid rough cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items.
- Avoid excessive wiping as this may cause damage.
- Unplug all external power sources, equipment, and cables while cleaning.
- Unless otherwise stated for a particular product, do not use liquid based agents.
- Do not moisten the USB port
- Do not use sprays, bleaches or abrasives.
- Do not spray cleaner directly onto the product.
From the above, Apple does not recommend to spray disinfectant directly onto your smartphones and other products. You may also use isopropyl alcohol wipes and disinfectants such as Clorox wipe. Avoid using hyrogen peroxide based detergents as it will damage the coating on the surface of the device!
