The Asus smartphone series – ZenFone smartphone was one of the most anticipated smartphone of this year. Comparing from the Asus ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 which released last year, the Zenfone 2 is a great upgrade in terms of specification and system performance. After the release of the Asus ZenFone 2, Asus also announce the ZenFone Selfie and the Zenfone 2 Laser!

The ZenFone 2 Laser comes with 6 inches, 5.5 inches and 5 inches variant. There are no difference between the design between all the variant but the top spec comes with large FHD display and powered by the Snapdragon 615 processor. There is no pricing detail available for this smartphone. Meanwhile, the lower end variant that comes with 5 inches display will be priced at RM649!

The design of the box is nearly identical as other Zenfone series, no difference at all.
Power adapter, USB data cable, warranty sheet and instruction manual included. Too bad there is no headphone included in the box.

Design quick look!
As a variant of the ZenFone 2, the design of the ZenFone 2 laser is identical with the previously released Asus ZenFone 2.
However, the dual LED flash of the Asus Zenfone 2 has moved to the side of the camera lens instead of the top of the Asus Zenfone 2.

The ZenFone 2 is available in 5 different colour option but the gold and grey color variant comes with similar brushed metal texture as found in the Asus Zenfone 2.

With the laser asissted autofocus, the focus time of the Zenfone 2 laser has greatly reduced to a significant extend which definitely comes in handy when taking photos in instant moment. However, the image quality does not seem improved with the addition of the laser autofocus module. However, the ZenFone 2 price range fits in the budget entry level smartphone user that takes good images.
Conclusion
In short, the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser is able to provide a great user experience in terms of the handling and aesthetic appearance. However, those specification of the Zenfone 2 Laser is only classified as entry level smartphone. Nevertheless, it is a good smartphone option to select from in the range of budget smartphones out there.
