Samsung Malaysia has officially announced their successful collaboration with Maybank Berhad for the launch of Samsung Pay cash & cardless mobile payment system. If you have a Maybank card and a Samsung smartphone (limited to certain models), you can sign up and enjoy Samsung Pay with instructions below.
Currently, the supported Samsung Pay models are:
- Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge
- Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
- Samsung Galaxy Note 5
- Samsung Galaxy A5(2016/2017)
- Samsung Galaxy A7(2016/2017)
With Samsung Pay, you can perform transaction without using cash or any credit/ debit card. Each transaction requires fingerprint as authentication so there shouldn’t be much worry if your phone bound with your Maybankcard has lost or stolen.
Samsung Malaysia has performed a quick demonstration on the Samsung Pay method. Simply launch the Samsung Pay, authenticate and tap on credit machine… voila! your transaction is completed.
As more and more merchant has begin Samsung Pay support, Samsung aims to integrate more bank with its mobile payment technology. To encourage usage of Samsung Pay, there will be RM100 cash rebate for those who spent RM500 and above and perform transaction via Samsung Pay. It is limited to 500 customer and valid till 11th February.
