Android smartphones are long known for its OS fragmentation where old smartphone can no longer receive new updates due to hardware limitation and poor developer support. However, Google’s own smartphone – the new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be able to receive upcoming Google security and firmware update until end of year 2020, which is far more stretched than smartphone from other manufacturers.
