Google Pixel audio distortion? It’s a hardware issue

With the new Android upgrade that renders user unable to make call, a new Google Pixel issue has pop up in the Android community recently. One of the user has reported that the Google Pixel is experience static audio distortion when playback at high volume. The user – Buckman has experiencing audio issues when he play the Perfect Piano keyboard app on the Google Pixel but not the Google Nexus 6 (manufactured by HTC).

Email from Google says that the Pixel's audio problems are hardware related

Google has confirmed the existence of such problem which can be traced to its hardware issue. The static audio distortion cannot be fixed through software upgrade and user can opt for one to one exchange if the smartphone is within the warranty period.

However, the user has come up with a workaround that solve this issue by flashing custom ROM on the Google Pixel. It is effective in eliminating the static distortion but it is unsure whether this solution is permanent. Hence, it is advisable to claim for replacement if it is under warranty period.
