HTC U11 officially launched with all new Edge Sense

Just in today, HTC U11 has been officially launched with the highlight of the new AI based voice assistance technology along with on their iconic liquid surface design. It is the combination of HTC 10 and HTC Ultra, a premium flagship with state of the art hardware further enhanced by algorithm that assists user through Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistant technology.

The HTC U11 comes with black, blue, white, amazing silver, solar red which is purely mesmerizing under the liquid surface design!

Amazing Silver



The new “Amazing Silver” isn’t other any other common silver colored smartphones out there. Enhanced with liquid surface design, the HTC U11 offered an immense colour depth reflected from angle.



Solar Red



The Solar Red is also a new color introduced in the HTC U11. Similarly with Amazing Silver, the Solar Red also distinguish itself from the rest, thanks for the liquid surface design that reflect lights in a different way.

The U11 comes with a large 5.5 inches 2K Super LCD 5 display protected with 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass.


There is also a 16MP ultrapixel camera on the front with BSI support and Live Make-up real time image beauty feature.


The capacitive navigation keys surrounds the home button which is also a fingerprint reader.



The front display comes with 2.5D glass while the rear is covered with 3D glass. The volume rocker and power button is located at the right panel and nothing much remained on the left.


HTC also removed its 3.5mm audio jack and in turn use USB Type C as the main audio output port. The audio is greatly enhanced by the HTC BoomSound with HiFi support and a better in-built audio DAC for crisper sound.


The Edge Sense is also another major highlight for the HTC U11 that can be used as shortcut or a toggle for a certain action, such as taking a picture (pressing shutter) or launching HTC Sense Companion voice assistant.




The HTC U11 also highlights its 12MP UltraPixel 3 camera with large aperture up to f/1.7, thus promising better shots at low light environment. The newly added acoustic focus amplifies object’s sound that makes the audio recording more surround and realistic.


The HTC camera also rated at 90 from DxOMark, currently surpassing Google Pixel and Galaxy S8 who was once nominated with the best camera.

HTC Sense Companion




The HTC Sense Companion combines the power of Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa that detects and recognize sound within 1.5 meter. The Sense Companion also supports Baidu search engine for China region, where Google isn’t available.


The Amazon Alexa will be available in US, UK and Germany within 30 days of HTC U11 availability.


In short, HTC distinguished itself from the crowd with the addition of new colours along with the liquid surface design. The newly added Edge Sense that is easy to learn can aids user in performing simple task while the Sense Companion to do a greater and complex job with the help from Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.



As for now, it is known that the HTC U11 in Malaysia will be available with 6GB RAM and 4GB RAM may be imported if there’s a demand. In the meantime, Maxis will be the first telco company that launches carrier plan with the new HTC U11.
