Huawei Kirin 985 is a 7nm chip with EUV process, first available on Mate 30 series?

Huawei has been designing their HiSilicon mobile SoC since many years ago, but the manufacturing part always belongs to other. This time, Huawei will be planning to increase self sufficiency on their chipset that amount to their 45% of demand to reduce reliance on others. In the coming months, Huawei will be developing and manufacturing their 7nm + EUV SOC – the Kirin 985. It’s an upgrade from Kirin 980 in CPU and GPU performance.

According to PhoneArena, EUV (Extreme UV Lithography) uses light to etch transistors on silicon. It enhances the precision of transistor for 20% increase of transistors density, effectively result in better efficiency and lower power consumption.

The Kirin 985 could surface as early as on the next Huawei Mate 30 series.
