HUAWEI Mate 50 could be powered by Snapdragon 898, LTPO display with adaptive refresh rate

Around this July, HUAWEI has only launched the P50 series for this year. While P50 launch is over, the Mate 50 series was severely delayed due to chip shortage. HUAWEI has not made any official release date statement to date.

A popular Weibo user has leaked new information about the HUAWEI Mate 50 series. He said that a business smartphone is now testing Snapdragon 898 4G and model name appears to be SM8425.

The “business grade smartphone” appears to upcoming HUAWEI Mate 50. It could be featuring the Snapdragon 898 while using 4G chipset.

The Snapdragon 898 is based on Samsung 4nm architecture and has 1x 3.0Ghz Cortex X2, 3x Cortex A78 followed by 4x Cortex A55 supplementary core. It is the first chip that broke million score at Antutu benchmark.

In the meantime, the Kirin 9000 is also available where some Mate 50 could be using this chip. The Mate 50 is also rumored to share the same LTPO display with iPhone 13 Pro with adaptive refresh rate, launching in Q1 next year.
