Despite the cancellation of Mobile World Congress 2020, HUAWEI has not ceased its launch of their lineups of products which includes smartphone, notebooks and foldales! In less than an hour ago, HUAWEI has launched the HUAWEI Mate Xs which is the successor of the HUAWEI Mate X.
The new HUAWEI foldable smartphone is powered by the newest Kirin 990 5G chipset with an integrated 5G modem which brings greater performance and power efficiency. Here’s the detailed run down of the new foldable smartphone.

As for the display size, there isn’t much distinguishable difference between the HUAWEI Mate Xs and Mate X. When unfolded, both reaches around 8 inches and once folded, the display goes around 6.38 to 6.6 inches.
The build design and material has much improves the structural integrity of the Mate Xs and hence the production cost is now 3 times higher. The material used in manufacturing has 30% stronger than Titanium alloy.
Performance wise, HUAWEI brings the Kirin 990 5G chipset to achieve 5G networking capability. This is much more power efficient than the Kirin 980 combined with Balong 5000 modem. In contrast with previous generation, the new HUAWEI Mate Xs can support up to 8 channels of 5G network.
The HUAWEI Mate Xs also sports 45000mAh battery and supports 55W quickcharge. A round of chargign should last about 30 minutes which pumps in 3825mAh.
HUAWEI Mate Xs also sports a 40MP primary camera, 16MP ultra wide angle camera, 8MP wide angle camera and ToF lens. It supports 3 times optical zoom and up to 30x maximum zoom distance, 2.5cm macro shot and OIS + AIS support.
Software wise, the HUAWEI Mate Xs is operated on EMUI 10 which is based on Android 10. It also supports multi tasking ability from the HUAWEI tablet with more multi-functional support.
The HUAWEI Mate Xs with 8GB RAM and 512GB ROM will be retailing at 2499 euro (~RM11332). The availability and launch date of this unit will be revealed shortly.
