Soon after the EMUI 9.1 open beta for Mate 20, Huawei has announces 49 smartphones to receive EMUI 9.1 update. In order to bring EMUI 9.1 to all the consumers, Huawei has been progressively working on the development for most tablets and smartphones from the previous years.

It is reported that EMUI 9.1 is revamped with new themes and icons which are more realistic, simple and expressive. EMUI 9.1 also introduces new Huawei Ark compiler for optimization of Android which claims to increase system performance by 24%, 44% in system response and enhancing third-party applications by 60%
In addition, EMUI 9.1 also has Huawei EROFS super file system, which saves 14% space by advanced compression algorithm and improves read performance by 20%.
GPU Turbo is also upgraded to version 3.0 for low-power full-frame gaming experience, added support for more than 50 games with support on modern games
