Huawei Smart Storage OceanStor Dorado V6 launching in Malaysia, targeted for commercial user

In the recent Huawei IT technology forum, it has launched an all new flash storage solution known as OceanStor Dorado V6 powered by KunPeng 920.

The OceanStor Dorado V6 is based on KunPeng 920 processor & modem and ShengTeng 310 AI processor. With the aid of Flashlink AI calculation and 32 controller, it can reaches up to 20 million IOPS with 0.1ms latency.

OceanStor Dorado V6 uses the SmartMatrix system architecture. The system can tolerate the failure of 7 of the 8 controllers at the same time, but the core services can ensure that the storage is always online and not affected. In addition, if the controller fails, the system can fail over within one second, and upgrade every second without affecting the host.

At the same time, OceanStor Dorado V6 uses end-cloud AI to perform lifecycle management and can avoid data migration interruptions which brings smooth experience. The performance capacity trends can be predicted 60 days in advance, disk failures to be discovered 14 days in advance,  and resolves 93% problems and provide solutions in a timely manner. Through the FLASH EVER program, it can be upgraded through modularization, and no data migration is required in 10 years.

Meanwhile, OceanStor Dorado V6 also helps reduce costs and improve efficiency. Based on Huawei’s self-developed high-density Palm SSD, Dorado’s data reduction rate is 20% higher than the industry average and the capacity density is 33% higher. Based on these new technologies, Dorado can help customers reduce operating costs by 30%.
