HUAWEI’s R&D for 6G network has begun, estimated to be deployed on 2030

In a recent interview with HUAWEI China telecommunication executives, HUAWEI has begun its research and development into 6G network telecommunications.

The current 5G network relies on mmWave technoloy which allows faster data speeds and much higher bandwidth than ever before. However, more station is needed to broadcast 5G signal as it is relatively lacking of coverage. As for their preliminary findings, 6G could be using nmWave to achieve even higher bandwidth and download speed. This comes at the cost of the deployment of 6G network station as the range will gets even smaller.

5G in China has been growing progressively with over 190 thousands base station installed and expected to reach up to 600 thousands in the coming years.
