Apart from the Snapdragon 855 announced at the Snapdragon Summit, MediaTek has announced their upcoming mobile chip – the Helio M70 which is said to support 5G network connectivity with promises on its efficiency at the event at Guangzhou today.
The MediaTek Helio M70 SoC is an independent 5G baseband chip which offers faster connectivity, lower power usage and batter efficiency to be part of the 5G network revolution.
The Helio M70 is designed in accordance with 3GPP Rel-15 5G new interface standards, including support for stand-alone (SA) and non-independent (NSA) network architectures, supporting Sub-6GHz bands, high power terminals (HPUE) and other 5G key technologies. In addition to the Sub-6GHz band, MediaTek’s 5G solution will also support the millimeter-wave band to meet the needs of different manufacturers and operating. It will be supplied en mass to manufacturer by 2019.
