Moto X Style could be the next “flagship killer”?


Motorola has unveiled the successor of 2014 Moto X – the Motorola Moto X Style. This time, Motorola add in alot of high performance specification which a price that not everyone could believe. Could the Moto X takes the crown of the flagship killer this time?

  • 3000mAh(supports Turbo Power quick charge technology)

With that tiny bezel along with the silicon-carbonate rear cover that feels soft on the palm, Motorola has indeed put in some effort in creating a unique yet attractive smartphone. Moto X Style can be customized in almost every part with Moto Maker online. If battery is a concern, Motorola Moto X supports quick charge technology which is 50% faster than quick charge technology in Galaxy S6. A single charge of 15 minutes allow the device to run for 10 hours straight!

Running Android 5.1.1, Motorola doesn’t always add bloatware into their device. Nevertheless, the Moto X Style is also going to be another vanilla smartphone with little amount of pre-installed application.

It is currently priced at USD 399.99 which is roughly RM1523. The specification which such low price tag already take some other flagship manufacturer behinds. Could it be the flagship killer this time?


Moto X Play and Moto G

Apart from Motorola X Style, Motorola also release Moto X Play and Moto G which falls into the class of mid-range smartphone


Motorola X Play falls into the mid-range smartphone category which comes at a 5.5 full HD display, a 21MP camera, 5MP front camera and powered with Snapdragon 615 and 2GB RAM. It comes with a larger battery at 3630mAh which provides impressive battery life for this device. Nevertheless, it is priced at 299 euro which is roughly at RM1778. Wait, how does this even correlates with the price for Moto X Style?



Meanwhile, the Moto G runs on the entry level smartphone line. With 5′ HD display along with Snapdragon 410, 13MP rear camera, 1GB RAM + 8GB ROM & 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. The first variant was priced at USD 179 (RM683) and USD 219 (RM853) respectively.

Moto X Play will be available in 55 different countries on the upcoming August while the Moto X Style will only be available in the US on the September. Looks like its gonna take some time for them to come!
