Nexus 6 Android 7.1.1 upgrade hinders call experience

The Google Nexus 6 manufactured by HTC is the last smartphone launched in the Nexus smartphone line. With the model being replaced by Google Pixel, the Nexus still able to receive firmware and software update for 2 years from its first launch. However, a new Android 7.1.1 upgrade brings severe issue that hinders call experience and many Nexus 6 users reported that the firmware is the one to blame.

Most users reported that the recipient unable to receive any voice transferred through the call and the speakers makes a sharp pitched voice. After reverting firmware back to Android, these problem no longer appears. Could it be the Android 7.1.1 messing up the call quality?

Google has acknowledge the existence of such problem with the new upgrade. Hence, it is advisable not to upgrade your Nexus 6 to the latest firmware yet.
