The Nokia 8 offers a unibody metal design inherited from the Nokia 5. It offers certain features that current flagships offers today, such as the 2.5D front display panel. Unfortunately, the Nokia 5 is only IP54 water resistant certified, thus not able to compete with other water resistant smartphones from Sony and Samsung.
However, it doesn’t seems so bad when it comes to the display. The Nokia 5 offers a 5.3 inches WQHD (2K) display at 554ppi and it is strengthened with Gorilla Glass 5 from Corning, making it durable from metal scratches. Its display can lit up to 700 nits, a brightness which makes the display panel visible even under bright sun.

Nokia 8’s display also offers a similar & unremarkable feature as the Always-on Display where Nokia named it as Glance Screen. The Glance Screen display information on the time, date, missed calls & emails and Nokia has a plan to integrate support for social apps notifications.
As the international Nokia 8 comes with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variant, the Malaysian Nokia 8 model does only comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB on-board storage. Nonetheless, the Snapdragon 835 gives hassle-free user experience and decent performance for those who seek power form the Nokia 8. It also comes preloaded with Android 7.1.1 and expected for Android 8 upgrade soon.
With their recent collaboration with ZEISS, the Nokia 8 is the world first smartphone with ZEISS dual rear camera set up. It is composed of 13MP monochromatic lens and colour lens and pictures taken were combined to form a stunningly vivid and clear image.
