OnePlus 5 is their first smartphone that follows the new camera trend on flagships – the dual rear camera. It has a 20MP+16MP rear camera powered by Sony IMX sensors and one of it focus on the portrait mode.

The new Smart Capture in OnePlus 5 brings out more highly detailed picture along with greater noise reduction. It can detects the best image background for the ideal adjustment of colour.

Apart from Professional camera mode, OnePlus 5 camera app also offers Histogram like picture to provides additional details of the photo (similarly with DSLR camera) and support post adjustment for RAW image format.

On the side note, the design of the OnePlus 5 gives a strong resemblance of the iconic OnePlus 5. It seems like OnePlus has highly emphasized the visual appearance in their new creation while lacked of some originality. Luckily, the 3.5mm audio jack remains.

Nonetheless, OnePlus 5 is also present with their Dash Charge technology that replenish more power in shorter charging duration.

As one of the Android flagship for the year 2017, OnePlus has going hardware-centric with the Snapdragon 835 SoC, 8GB RAM along with new high resolution dual rear camera. However, it seems like the OnePlus 5 has lacked some originality on its design and doesn’t offer water resistant feature like other flagships. What do you think?
