The quickcharging technology has been rapidly improving for Android devices in the recent year. Given HUAWEI has continuously improving their technology, the Mate 40 Pro and Pr0 Plus currently supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging while Mate 40 comes with 40W wired/wireless charging.
Richard Yu has claims that HUAWEI have 120W and 200W quickcharging technology in hand. However, he claims that it is not being used on Mate 40 due to the practically of such technology as it is more suited for battery with larger capacity.
In the current smartphone industry, overcharging protection isn’t as stable to cater up to 200W. He also assures that 50W wireless charging should be the best balance between charging speed and battery capacity.
