Richard Yu: HarmonyOS is now 70-80% ready, Google ecosystem replacement in the future?

Earlier today, HUAWEI consumer business CEO Richard Yu has updated the current progress in HUAWEI business. He expressed that the HarmonyOS progress is now at 70 to 80 percent of Android.

He also state that if Android operating system is permanently banned for China company, this system will act as Android replacement for smartphone makers.  However he also expressed that the current affairs is not linked with the future and there are much more possibilities and expectation. 5G is now far ahead. We are ahead of Ericsson for more than one and a half years, and Ericsson is ahead of Nokia by five years.” as stated by him.

It is reported that the 2020 Huawei Developer Conference “HDC Together” will be held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan from September 10th to September 12th. At that time, Yu Chengdong will give a keynote speech on “Jointly Build a Smart Ecosystem for All-Scenario Interconnection of Everything”.

In addition, Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer business software department, and He Gang, president of Huawei’s consumer business mobile phone product line, will also deliver keynote speeches.

Outsiders speculate that at this conference, Huawei will reveal more on HarmonyOS 2.0 expanding from smart screens to innovative domestic PCs, watches/bands, and cars.
