According to foreign media, Samsung Electronics has recently announced the completion of 5nm chip development. This chip development is based on FinFET technology and such manufacturing process could enhances efficiency while increasing performance.
The 5nm chip from Samsung will increase PPA as per 7nm chip and able to utilize Samsung complete EUV technology to the fullest. As the 5nm chip could increase 24% of logical calculation, it also reduces power consumption to 20% while delivering 10% more performance.
It will begin mass manufacturing in 2020 Q2.
