This is not the usual smartphone - Elephone P8000 Unboxing!

What is Elephone? At first we have no idea at all, but now we know that Elephone is a smartphone company established in 2006 in Shenzhen China that focus on bringing their product to European and American continents. And now, Elephone has entered Malaysia smartphone market by releasing several models and the Elephone P8000 is the smartphone that we will be discussing about today.

Unboxing

At the first glance, it is just a mediu sized rectangle box that comes with a striped design (which is not our taste), but the smartphone design was potrayed outside the box.

Inside the box comes with the Elephone P8000 itself, 9H+ tempered resistant glass, Charger and the instruction manual.

Design at a Glance

When we first saw the Elephone P8000, it was some kind of deja vu, that we seems to have a familiar image of this product. Sporting a 5.5 inches display, this smartphone might be another common phone that we seen everyday.

Here comes the flashy part, the bottom of the P8000 is specially design with a gold colour that flashes under light. The home button is potrayed in a circle follow by the 2 dots on that indicate back and menu button. However, there is no background lightning for these button so it could be hard to use in the dark.

The rear cover is curved in design that is almost similar with other smartphones. Gold plated design provides another level of aesthetic which makes it feel even more elegant.

Here comes the 3.5mm and microUSB port!

And now we realized why Elephone P8000 uses the striped design on the box! Those stripes are identical with the box which makes it to be the unique design feature from the smartphone itself. Marked with the large Elephone logo, the smartphone appear clean and simplistic.

Every edge of the smartphone is curved in design. This significantly improves the grip and the sensation when holding the smartphone on the palm. The speaker is located on the bottom where the camera module is located on the top.

Beneath the camera module comes the fingerprint sensor. It is called as the 360° TouchID recognition sensor that can detect and recognize the fingerprint at any direction or position!

The circle on the cover shows the date and time on the smartphone when it is closed. Nothing flashy.

Huh? Where is the SD slot? It comes with 2 microSIM slots on the top of the battery and the microSD slot is located on the most left side of the phone.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Elephone P8000 is a smartphone that features a stunning aesthetic design and a curved rear cover that provides a good ergonomics when handling the smartphone in portrait or landscape mode. However, a 160g can be a little too heavy and the thickness of the smartphone might not be that appealing for some of the consumer that focus slim body design. For an average consumer, this is another option for your midrange phone that fits your budget!
