You will need to take selfies when you use Grab from 12th July onward

There are more and more compliance onto the e-hailing app services. The new regulation now adds Grab users to take a selfie photo to passenger verification. The selfie photo is a one time use when hailing Grab cars and photos will be used when Grab are required provide further information to authorities.

This regulation is enforced on 12th July and users will be required to take a selfie whenever they hail Grab cars.

Still, you are not allowed to wear any mask or use other photos to verify your identity. It might require your camera permission for passenger verification in the future.
