On the 16th of June, Huawei has been awarded with Best 5G core network technology award at 5G summit 2019 held at London.
It is reported that the Huawei 5G smart core network is based on native cloud, connection + and edge computing technologies, and supports software-based three-layer decoupling, stateless design, cross-DC deployment, micro-service, grayscale upgrade and other key technologies.
This is the first core network in the industry that truly supports 2G/3G/4G/5G NSA/5G SA deep integration. It is based on a distributed architecture with transfer separation. It supports one-stop user-side plug and play, scheduling heterogeneous on demand. Edge computing for fast integration with third-party applications.
Huawei officially said that as of June 2019, Huawei has obtained 46 5G commercial contracts worldwide and has carried out a series of cross-industry cooperation in the fields of smart grid, VR/AR, car networking, telemedicine and intelligent manufacturing.
In addition, patent analysis firm IPLytics statistics show that as of March 2019, Chinese manufacturers have applied for the “standard essential patent (SEP)” in the 5G field has accounted for 34% of the world. Among them, Huawei ranked first in the world with 1554 “standard essential patents”.
On June 15th, commercial 5G networks in 15 cities including Madrid and Barcelona in Spain have been officially launched. Huawei is the main equipment supplier.
