In just few hours ago, HUAWEI has unveiled the new MateBook Pro as its flagship tablet. HUAWEI also brings in the new Kirin 990 processor, 10.8″ hole punch display, 7250mAh battery which supports 40W quickcharge. This tablet currently retails in local market for RM2399.

Our review unit of the MatePad Pro is the midnight grey edition and comes with the M-Pencil and Smart Keyboard. The M-Pencil is made up of metal alloy which feels premium and matte touch.

For its design, there is HUAWEI logo placed in the middle of the tablet and no other wording were found. Around the corner is the 13MP rear facing camera which protrudes slightly. If you are worried about scratching the lens, a case such as the keyboard cover will help.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro has a curved edges and the frame were surrounded with quad stereo speakers. There is a USB Type C port for data IO and power input. This battery is a 7250mAh battery and supports 20W quickcharge.

As for its display, MatePad Pro sports a 10.8″ QHD display with 16:10 ratio and resolution at 2560 x 1600. The display is rated with DCI-P3 and has a hole punch for its camera. Given a large display, handling with one hand could be slightly difficult thus it is ideal to be paired with Smart Keyboard.

Here is why the Smart Keyboard is ideal for this unit. By attaching to the MatePad Pro, this allow typing through full sized keyboard which offers great typing experience. Each key travel distance is at 1.3mm and provide generous feedback during typing.

You can even use this combo as a replacement of your laptop when you are traveling outside.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro 8GB+256GB will be available for pre-order from 3rd April 2020 for RM2399. You can even get premium gifts including the Smart Keyboard, M-Pencil and HUAWEI Cloud Storage at 50GB along with WPS Office Premium for 3 months!
