Meizu event: Meilan Note 5 with Helio P10+4GB RAM launched at RM580!

Following the launch of the Meilan X (M3X) and Meizu Pro 6 Plus, Meizu has launched another mid-range smartphone in less than one week time. The new smartphone that Meizu bringing to the launch stage is the Meilan Note 5. Let’s have a closer look on the design and the hardware details of the new Meizu mid-range.

The Meizu new mid-range still features the iconic yet conventional CNC framing and dual antenna design on its back. It does feature the 2.5D curved glass with diamond edge cutting while coated in new blue and space grey colour.

The Helio P10 octacore SoC is clocked at 1.8Ghz that provides decent computing power for causual use. It is available in 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB ROM option. Furthermore, the 5.5 inches display provides Full HD resolution display and supports brightness that varies under sunlight and dark environment.

 

The 5MP front and 13MP rear camera appears somehow conventional in mid-range smartphones today, and its rear camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and fastest autofocus time up to 0.2 seconds. The new ArcSoft algorithm also brings a new level to its selfie enhancement.

The large 4000mAH with the P10 SoC is expected to give a battery life for a day or two and the quickcharge technology is able to recharge completely before it runs out of juice again.

The Home button is one of the proudest achievement for Meizu. This time, the newly integrated Note 5 Home button is able to recognize and unlock smartphone in 0.2 seconds and support payment authentication of AliPay and Tencent through mBack.

For its firmware, the Meilan Note 5 is running on Flyme 6, a heavily modified Android OS that comes with AI self learning algorithm for better user experience.

For its pricing, the Meilan Note 5 is priced around RM580 to RM970 and it will be officially available in China from 10th December. While imported sets might be comprehensible right now, there has no plan for Meizu Malaysia to bring in this smartphone yet.
