The development of 4G network by various telecoms company in Malaysia has become widespread in city area in the battle to gain more consumers. As Celcom has planned to roll out 5G network in Malaysia by March next year, U Mobile has taken its initiative for the 4.5G network in Malaysia with the collaboration with Huawei Technologies Malaysia.
The 4.5G network utilized 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz bands which is not available for certain lower end device and this technology is currently available in Johor Bahru area in this moment. U Mobile also expressed that they will be further expanding the 4.5G network for 900Mhz band for more smartphone support along with coverage on Ipoh, Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
In the meantime, Huawei CEO also promotes the familiarization of 4.5G network in Malaysia that aids in bring this country to a tech-driven state powered by IoT devices and seamless internet nationwide.
While U Mobile official doesn’t demonstrate any download/upload bandwidth and speed it offered with the new network, it can be seen that U Mobile offered a net download speed peaked at 361.2Mbps in Johor Bahru which is likely achieved by the 4.5G network connectivity. The rising competition between telcos has driven constant improvement in technology brings this country a step closer to its vision.
