The development of 5G has just grown even more aggressive last week. Celcom now shows their self driving car which is based on a Proton Exora model at Putrajaya recently.
This is a joint effort by Celcom and eMooVit and utilized state of the art hardware and 8 cameras to assist in scene recognition. It is tested on 15kmh drive and eMooVit stated that it could reach up to 40kmh. This has achieved level 4 autonomy.
This vehicle can transmit information between other vehicles and thus requires a vast network of connectivity. According to eMooVit, this 800m drive has recorded over 44GB of data.
