Both smartphones comes with state of the art connectivity under 5G network thanks to the high performance Kirin 990 5G SoC. This make the HUAWEI P40 future proof and able to catch up with the latest trend as 5G network is progressively growing in Malaysia. Besides, the new generation of cameras on the HUAWEI P40 series also uncover unprecedented camera capability on a smartphone.

The HUAWEI P40 and P40 Pro has been launched and it is now open for pre-order. Each pre-order between 3rd to 10th April will comes with premium freebies as below.

Apart from the general smartphone performance, the HUAWEI P40 series comes with the advanced camera system from LEICA. As an example, the HUAWEI P40 Triple LEICA camera is composed of 50MP Ultra Vision camera, 3 times optical zoom and 16 times ultra wide angle capture. Whereas the higher tier P40 Pro comes with a quad camera combined of 50MP Ultra Vision camera, 5 times optical zoom, 40MP ultra wide angle camera and 50 times digital zoom.

The HUAWEI P40 Pro Plus is also capable in reaching up to 100 times zoom. However it has yet to be launched in Malaysia.

Large sensors, pixel size and best autofocus on the market

Both HUAWEI P40 and P40 Pro uses a 50MP RYYB camera lens and a super large 1/1.28 inch type camera sensor! The captured pixel size is also as large as 2.44 μm and capable to achieve ISO up to 409600, something that is not easily attainable.

It also has the best XD Fusion engine which uses 16 in 1 Pixel Fusion technology to create colour vivid pictures. Being an industrial leader, it also brings world first octa PD autofocus in their flagship P40 series along with a technology that adjusts the auto white balance based on AI.

Given by this, it can capture incredible shots day and night regardless of the lightning environment and creates vivid pictures with high amount of details. Portrait shot is also available on this system.

Golden Snap & removes unwanted objects!

Golden Snap is a feature that collects live photos of the image before and after it is taken. While photos were arranged side by side, the HUAWEI P40 series camera app will shows recommendation for the best photo taken based on AI.

The P40 series also adds in AI Remove Passerby and AI remove Reflection technology. The AI Remove Passerby can removes moving objects such as pedestrian by a single tap. If you are frustrated when taking a picture behind a glass, the AI Remove Reflection can sort out your troubles.

zoom, Zoom & ZOOM!

Thanks to the dedicated telephoto lens, the HUAWEI P40 and P40 Pro is capable in reaching 3 times and 5 times optical zoom respectively. The P40 Pro can even captures the moon in low light environment due to its capability of zoom up to 50 times!

Here we cans see that the P40 Pro captures the moon with very high amount of detail.

32MP selfie camera for 4K selfie video!

The 32MP selfie camera paired with IR depth sensor can create unprecedented 4K ultra high definition selfie video and takes a clear selfie with accurate colours. It can also be used to capture image with bokeh effect!

And there is the Direction Audio Zoom. This highlights the sound emitted from the object when it is being zoomed and the background noise was filtered, marking the audio much clearer.

Most advanced 5G SoC – Kirin 990 5G

The powerhouse of the HUAWEI P40 series is the Kirin 990 5G SoC. It has an inbuilt 5G chipset within the processor which saves spaces on the mainboard and allow reduced power consumption when compared against dedicated 5G modem aside of the processor, such as the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G models.

HUAWEI also states that it achieve a high AI performance with the Kirin 990 5G SoC which beats Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 by 3 times higher.

EMUI & MeeTime

As usual, the HUAWEI P40 series is expected to run on the newest EMUI 10.1 which is based on Android 10. There are some updates for this devices which offers new smoother icon animation based on natural motion, HUAWEI own set of themes and all new Always On Display.

One of the most interesting feature is the addition of MeeTime. MeeTime allow high quality video calls toward their partner and it can be used to share their screen in real time too! Another good thing about Mee Time is that it can be used on device from other platform not just the P40 series.

HUAWEI MatePad Pro

The MatePad Pro is the newest addition into its flagship tablet range and it is powered by state of the art Kirin 990 SoC, offering 10.8 inches diplay, 20W quickcharge and 15W wireless charging.
