Universal Serial Bus (USB) has become a popular tool to from microelectronics to machinery in modern world. With a wide variation of USB on the market, each types serves their own purposes designed for different application and comes with different data bandwidth & transfer speed.
During the Mobile World Congress 2019, USB-FA reintroduced the USB 3.2 which offers data transfer up to 20Gbps.
The USB 3.2 was released in 2017 and more details has been revealed on MWC 2019. The new specification will be utilized on Type C connectivity with dual tx.Rx channel to achieve 20Gbp, reaching half the speed on Thunderbolt 3.
This time, the USB 3.0 and 3.1 is renamed to USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 respectively. The latter offer 10Gbps transfer sped while the new 2×2 specs will offers twice the speed.
