WhatsApp backup will not be counted Google Drive quota and 1 year inactive backup will be deleted

With over 1 billion users worldwide, WhatsApp has become a favourite tool to communicate for personal and business purposes. It is also a known fact that WhatsApp no longer stores users message on their server and chat message history will be lost when the primary phone is no longer available in case of no backup. Recently, there is a change of contract terms between WhatsApp and Google where WhatsApp chat backup will no longer be counted in Google Drive quota but chat backup will be deleted if inactive for a year.

From 12th November onward, chat backup will no longer be counted in storage metrics and inactive chat will be deleted. To prevent your chat message deleted due to inactivity, it’s time to change your backup settings now!
