As vivo V5 has recently launched in Malaysia, the 20MP front facing camera is the main spotlight of this smartphone that is ideal for those who enjoy taking self portraits. The selfie taken is further enhanced with vivo’s own image beauty algorithm and well presented before it is distributed to your friends at social media.
vivo has ditched its own conventional design on the v5 and instead comes with a rounded edge design similar to some China smartphone manufacturer. The 5.5 inches IPS display is indeed brilliant and more vivid than the vivo v3Max but unfortunately it is only at 720p HD display. Nonetheless it comes with blue filter which is important in maintaining good eyesight by reducing eye fatigue
The vivo v5 is a combination of polycarbonate and metal with the top and bottom separated by a slim antenna.
The 20MP front camera is powered by Sony IMX376 sensor with large f/2.0 aperture and Face Beauty 6.0 algorithm. The selfie beauty algorithm is able to distinguish male and female faces and thus providing different level of image enhancement.
The front facing fingerprint sensor has a fast response time up to 0.2 seconds and no dust or water molecule could affect your fingerprint recognition, according to official.
The vivo V5 rear camera is a generic camera that can capture up to 13 megapixels resolution. The camera comes along with phase detection auto focus and a aperture size at f/2.2
Its dimension at 153.8mm x 75.5mm x 7.55mm and weighs at 154g. It has a hybrid SIM slot that also supports 128GB microSD card.
The vivo v5 runs on FunTouch OS 2.6 based on Android 6.0. It is powered by MTK MT6750 octacore processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a vivo AK4376 Hi Fi chipset. This smartphone also support smart split feature for multitasking ease.
The 3000mAh battery also comes with quickcharging where 60% of battery can be just recharged for 45 minutes.
There is only rose gold and gold up for selection and both are equally priced at RM1299 and available at Malaysia from 26th November onward.
