While many country is now able to support Apple Watch with ECG feature, Malaysia still far behind. However is it not on the prejudice or the slow review process, but in fact of the stringent rule that was put into device certification under Medical Device Authority Act. MDA now certifies ECG function on the Apple Watch and it will soon be available locally from March onward.

MDA has listed this as Apple ECG App which includes Apple Watch ECG App and iPhone ECG app. According to Twitter user @XavierNaxa, this ECG feature is likely available in iOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 from March onward.
Prior to this, there has been some success stories where Apple ECG manage to detect Atrial Fibrillation in advance thus allowing advanced early treatment. However, using a single lead to derive ECG is likely not a reliable solution but it serves as an aggregate reference.
