Google adds new features to limited background apps to improve battery life in Android 11

The biggest battery hoarder is unoticed apps that’s running on the background most of the time. To offer better battery life and smoother user experience, Google has add a new feature on Android 11 that freezes background application, something like what Greenify is current offering right now.

The source code for Android 11 states that it will freezes background application and remove the process from RAM. “Frozen” apps will not takes up CPU usages and reduce battery required to keep it running on background.

This feature has been available in Android 11 Beta 2 but not activated yet. However by removing them from RAM it requires longer time when the app is restarted.
