Snapdragon 8150 certified from Bluetooth SIG hints details

With the on-going advancement on 7nm FinFET process achieved by Huawei Kirin 980 and Apple A12 Bionic, Qualcomm has made their own move in the 7nm process industry that drives even more performance in small form factor. The newest leak has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 approved by Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has recently certified their upcoming release which hinted some of the details.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 SoC was initially seen on an unreleased Android 9.0 Pie with Samsung Galaxy S9. While the next 800 series generation could be named under Snapdragon 855, the Snapdragon 8150 is more likely the possible successor of the Snapdragon 845 for now.


The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 is the newest SoC that brings Neural Processing Unit (similarly with Apple A12 Bionic & Kirin 970). It will enhance the level of machine learning.

As for its availability, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 is expected to be brought into the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 or Note 9.
